Floral Lettering
BRIEF: The original brief required an alphabet to be created using inspiration from shapes and forms found in my environment. The 26 letters were separate distinct styles. These were all hand rendered. I took a single letter from the alphabet and further developed it into a word. I wanted to create something stylistic, which could be used in application on set to anything from a poster or magazine to a piece of branding on a prop. PROCESS: The initial letter was inspired by garden flowers. Initial sketches were refined to finished piece, hand rendered. Further development involved experimentation with floral forms, as well as texture and colour. The final piece stood strongest in monochrome. Reflecting a timeless multifunctional typeface. MEDIA & SKILLS USED: Originally ink and paper. Later developed digitally using Adobe Illustrator.
